Soul legends Jocelyn Brown and Ray Lewis gave glittering performances at the Chigwell Construction Christmas Charity Ball on Saturday 12 December, which raised an astonishing £25,000 for Haven House Children’s Hospice.

Four hundred guests attended the Ball at The Willows in Hainault and were entertained by Ray Lewis & Still Drifting, Aswad, Gwen Dickey from Rose Royce, Jocelyn Brown, The Real Thing, and special performances by Aaron Floyd & The Noisy Boys, and a Frank Sinatra Tribute.

Dean Floyd, the owner of the Chigwell Construction Group, has supported Haven House for many years and was delighted that the event raised £25,000 for Haven House.

Dean Floyd said: “I was delighted to raise funds for Haven House with this year’s Chigwell Construction Christmas Charity Ball. The hospice does fantastic work in supporting life-limited children and their families in the local area. I would like to thank all of our guests and musical acts for making Saturday night such a success.”

Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive of Haven House, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Dean for producing a magnificent early Christmas present for the hospice.

“The funds raised by the Chigwell Construction Christmas Charity Ball will be used across a range of our services to support local life-limited children and their families. These include planned respite, short break and end-of-life care, as well as services designed to improve emotional and physical wellbeing.

“The continued support of the Chigwell Construction Group is commendable and shows just how much they care about giving back to the local community.”
